Sunday

9:30 AM-Noon: The Unconference!

Our Sunday UNCONFERENCE will focus on the collective “us” + the right-to-play movement:

  • What did we learn at the conference?
  • What inspired us and charged us up?
  • What blew our minds and touched our hearts?
  • And then most importantly: how are we going to bring it all home and take change-making ACTION in our own communities??

Hosted by:

Claude Stephens – Children at Play Network Director

Melissa Rue – Children at Play Network Coordinator

Kim Tabler – Children at Play Network Trainer,

but YOU are in charge. Together, the group will decide on the flow and format that will lead to discovery, challenges, discussions, and action steps.  Together we will tackle issues that you decide on. What subjects are rising up? What questions do we have? What support is needed? How are we going to collectively take play to the next level?

8:30 AM – Another option to start your day? Beastly Breakfast with Giraffes! (additional ticket required) While this overlaps with the morning of the Unconference, you will still return in time for the Play Festival!

12:00 – 2:00 PM – The Play Festival: bring your family, and join the community to bring PLAY to all. Here’s where the play is on display!

A good ol’ fashioned PLAY DAY with children and families from San Antonio communities! Fun is the name of the game as we transform a public space into a “play festival” with food, loose materials, bubbles, cardboard boxes, music, and more! See play and playwork principles in action and have fun letting the spirit of play wash over you in real-time. Join in the fun and help facilitate the play or just sit back and soak it all up. A real-life play finale!
