Q: When and where is the 2022 Annual Conference? The 2022 Annual Conference will be October 6-9, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Our primary host will be the University of the Incarnate Word, located conveniently between San Antonio Airport and the Riverwalk area, and only a few miles from each. We will also venture out to a number of fun off-site locations through tours and special events.

Q: What does the program look like? The program is FOUR DAYS of celebrating play!! The first two days, Thursday and Friday, will follow a more traditional conference schedule during the day with the evening receptions held at fantastic locations in San Antonio. Saturday will be full of adventure with four tour options to choose from, and an optional Saturday night hoe-down. Sunday starts with the Unconference, and the conference concludes Sunday afternoon by putting play into practice and bringing it to the community with the family-friendly Play Festival!

Q: Where should I stay? IPA USA has reserved a limited number of rooms in group blocks at discounted rates. More details, including rates, location, and booking information can be found here.

Q: How much is it? How do I register? Rates will vary depending on the dates you attend, optional events, and your IPA USA membership. Early bird discounts are available until July 31, 2022, so early is better!

Q: How will I get around between conference locations? IPA USA has arranged for an Uber credit for each of our attendees. You will receive detailed instructions and your code in the email you submitted with your registration.

Q: Is there an app for the conference? Yes! IPA USA will be using Sched. This tool will contain more detailed information on the conference – sessions, speakers, exhibitors, and more – and will also allow attendees to chat with each other throughout the course of the event. We highly encourage using the chat feature for those who will be using the Uber system – rideshare to use credits more efficiently, keep demand manageable for the drivers in the area, and be friendlier to the environment!

Q: Are there any requirements around Covid-19? While we are not setting specific guidelines around Covid-19 to attend the conference, we WILL be enforcing federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as any rules and guidelines of the various locations we will visit. Registrants will be required to acknowledge the following on the registration form:

“By registering for the 2022 IPA USA Annual Conference, I acknowledge the current risks and circumstances associated with travel and COVID-19. IPA USA assumes no responsibility and cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from COVID-19 exposure related to the Annual Conference.

I agree to abide by federal, state, and local COVID-19 regulations as they pertain during the time of the conference, including those of each establishment/venue acting as hosts of the conference and its attendees. Refusal to abide by any of these rules can result in dismissal from the session, up to dismissal from the conference as a whole, without refund, and without reimbursement for costs incurred related to attending the conference.”

Q: Will I get a certificate of attendance? Will I be able to add CEUs? All attendees will have a certificate of attendance made available to them. We are still working through the technical aspects of offering tracking for contact hours and/or CEUs, and will make them available to all attendees as we firm up details.

Q: Is there a vendor or exhibit hall? Yes! We will have an exhibitor and sponsor space available, and welcome those who work in the play-focused space and would like to share their products and services. More details will be available soon!
